Because I’ve been saving them for a book I was going to make at the end of the year, but now I’m sure I’m going to do that so I may be releasing quite a bit more stuff once I know what I’m doing. Also I haven’t been shooting as much as I’d really like to.
Hey you're amazing and i've watched your traveling adventure videos and they make me so happy and sad and jealous at the same time because I wish things like that happened to me. You seem like such an awesome and fun person to be around. I hope one day ill meet you!! But for now, keep doing your thing, you're incredible and inspire me and so many others.
what i’d really like is for someone to objectively watch me for a week or so and then just sit down with me for a few hours and explain to me what i am like and how i look to others and what my personality is in detail and how i need to improve where do i sign up for that

well they said I could send them the physical photo OR a CD with the jpeg files, OR send them both the physical photos and the cd... I only sent them the CD (and in this case they'll print the photos themselves). yeah I doubt they'll ever see it on flickr anyway... still I hope they don't keep all the rights :(
Anyway, I’m not too worried about this… I’m just a beginner and my photos are not really good… but yeah, I just think it’s a bit unfair if they keep all the rights. :/ But thank you SO MUCH for your help, you’re awesomeee :)
Ok, then my guess is that maybe they mean that the submission is their property since I feel like the word “property” kind of connotes a physical object. You should still have all your rights to it if that’s the case!
Sorry I couldn’t be more help! Just always be sure to read all the rules and agreements before you enter anything!
but even if they own all the rights, I can still post it on flickr, right? eh, I'm going to read the rules... I would send you a copy but I don't think it would help, it's not in english, haha. But thank you so much! :)
soo I just read the rules and the only thing that says is that the photo “is now their property” (that’s exactly what it says. I’m not sure what this means though… but if the photo is their “property” they must own all the rights, right? :/ )
Well that’s rubbish. Sounds like quite a scam. I think technically if they owned all the rights you can’t post it on Flickr. (I personally would anyway because I doubt they’d really care, but then again they seem pretty evil for taking all the rights).
(wait just another thought just to make sure, did you submit online or did you give them a physical photo? In that case it could just mean you’re not getting your printed photo back.)
I don't know if you know how to answer this, but I submited an image to a contest, and now they...uh... own the rights to the photo, I think (?)... so, this means I can't sell the photo, right?... but can I still post it on the internet? uh, sorry, I've never submited a photo to a contest before, I'm really confused now...
oh, and I forgot to ask: if I can’t sell the photo, does this mean that I can’t sell it even if I edit it? I mean, what if I expand the photo or something? the “original” photo I submited is still there, but it’s expanded now… do they still own it? UH I don’t know what I’m saying anymore. eh, this may sound stupid but yeah… hah sorry if you have no idea how to answer this :/
ALWAYS BE SURE TO READ RULES BEFORE ENTERING CONTESTS!
I doubt (or at least reallllly hope) that they don’t own all the rights to the photo now. If they do then that is a horrrrible contest. It is likely that they have non-exclusive rights, which means that they have the rights to do things like show the photo and use it for promotional stuff (the agreement should state exactly what rights they have). With non-exclusive rights you maintain all your rights to the photo unless otherwise stated. If by any chance you did end up granting them exclusive rights then you wouldn’t be able to sell the photo. In terms of editing the photo I’m not entirely sure. If you were to just re edit colors and stuff then I don’t think it would count as a “new” image. But I’m not sure if expanding is enough to make it “new.” No idea on that one.
Read through the contest agreement and rules though and that should explain the rest. If you need just send me a copy or link and I can try and clarify it too.

if I ever see you on the street (which will probably never happen) I WILL SCREAM "BRAAAAAAAD" AND THEN I'LL HUG YOU AND THEN WE'LL GO SHOOT TOGETHER AND YOU'LL TEACH ME EVERYTHING YOU KNOW. IS THAT OK? YAY (this didn't sound so creepy in my head...)
If you ever were to see me on the street and this didn’t happen I would be severely disappointed.
